Non-Dairy Starbucks Drinks: 15 Drinks To Try

Do you want to drink some dairy-free Starbucks beverages? If yes is your answer, you have come to the right place.

From what I’ve seen from their menu, Starbucks can be quite a confusing store. People order some bizarre and complicated drinks in there.

Ordering drinks can be daunting, especially if you’re looking for something specific to your tastes. Something dairy-free, for example. Thankfully, most beverages we can order are very modular. With many options and bountiful possibilities, we’ll surely find what we’re looking for. Let’s get right into it, shall we?

List of 15 Starbucks Dairy-Free Drinks

Hot Coffee

Ever present and always available, the life-giving nectar to our daily grind. I found an interesting legend that speaks of its origin as hailing from the ancient coffee forests on the Ethiopian plateau. The said legend has a herder who observes his goats becoming a bit too lively after eating the coffee berries.

The herder, named Kaldi, brings his discovery to the local abbot. The abbot fashions a drink out of it and discovers how great the drink was in keeping his mind in top condition. The abbot spreads the word, and so it flows into the horn of Africa and southern Arabia. The origins of modern coffee stem from the areas mentioned.

International commerce further propelled hot coffee onto the European stage and, finally, the world stage. Love it or hate it, a lot of people can’t live without it. Hot coffee is the bomb. It’s relatively cheap, effective, and available in more styles than one.

1. Caffé Americano

A classic and straightforward drink made with espresso and topped with hot water. The mix of the coffee shot or shots and hot water creates a light layer of crema to give you a delightful experience of invigorating nuance. The Starbucks recipe has a shot of coffee in an 8 fluid-oz cup, with every 4 fl oz up-size having another shot added to the drink.

You can have it modified in 7 ways, technically 8. The same can be generally said for a lot of the drinks on this list.

Quick Fact: You can modify the added creamer, flavor, topping, sweetener, cup size, a number of shots, add tea, and even specify if you want a room in the cup for the contents you could add if you felt like it.

2. Pike Place Roast

A Starbucks original blend. Designed to be able to be enjoyed throughout the day with a well-rounded balance of taste and subtle flavors. If you’re looking for “the” Starbucks brewed coffee experience, Pike Place Roast is where it’s at.

Maybe you’ll like the subtlety of its flavor and the possible dairy-free combinations you can think of to make this drink special for you. Oh yeah, there is also a decaf version of it.

3. Pistachio Latte

Yet another espresso variant with a distinct flavor. It is made from the coziest flavors of sweet pistachio, rich brown butter, and steamed milk. Since we’re looking for something dairy-free, but still want that pistachio goodness, we’ll have to be creative. You need to only lay off the butter and change the creamer to your preferred dairy-free alternative.

Cold Coffee

It is refreshing in the heat, quite chilly when it passes through your throat, yet it brings vivacity when fully ingested. An indispensable kind of coffee to enjoy in the summer! Born from the rigors of war and brought to the world stage by Parisian coffee shops inspired by returnee soldiers.

Whether in hot or cold weather, cold coffee can be quite refreshing.

4. Starbucks Cold Brew Coffee

Another Starbucks-exclusive blend. The beans used in this drink are grown to steep for a long time in cold water to provide a smooth, non-acidic flavor. Steeped in cool water for 20 hours, this mellow drink will breathe life into you when the going gets tough. I personally prefer this drink.

Quick Fact: I find beauty in its simplicity and enjoyment in its possibilities for enhancement. It also helps that cold brews are great for people with problems drinking the usual brews that have high acidity.

5. Nitro Cold Brew

The same beloved cold brew, but with a nitrogen infusion. The gas makes the drink thick and creamy without anything extra. Since the beans used for the cold brew have a slight natural sweetness to them, you don’t even need to add sugar to them.

It kind of feels like drinking a beer, but it makes you feel alive in a different sort of way. Truly, it is effervescent and novel.

Hot Tea

Fancy a different kind of dairy-free energizer? Though less enlivening than coffee, tea is great as a steady source of mental stimulation. Have a cup or two of some steaming hot tea for your pleasure. It makes someone quite comfortable when drunk in a cold place.

Since we’re looking for dairy-free, we’ll just have to modify what kind of milk is steamed. There are three options: almond, coconut, and soy. If you’re lucky, you might even be able to get the rare oat milk variety. It’s best enjoyed when sipped and savored, though that’s up to you.
