McDonald’s Iced Coffee Menu: Ranked Worst To Best

McDonald’s is famous for its burgers but surprisingly, their coffee from the McCafe is good and at par with other coffee shops out there. For an iced coffee enthusiast like me, McDonald’s is becoming my go-to coffee shop. I vouch for the taste and flavor of their coffee.

Aside from the fact that they practically have branches everywhere, a majority of the beverages in their menu are under two (2) dollars. For those not familiar, their drinks come in three sizes, small (12 ounces), medium (16 ounces), and large (22 ounces).

You might be wondering, what is the best McDonald’s iced coffee? Fear not! As a fellow coffee lover, I have listed some of my favorites and deem them as the best McDonald’s iced coffee.

1. Iced Coffee

Nutritional Information: 140 calories, 5g Total Fat, 24g Total Carbs, 2g Protein (small size)
Ingredients: Premium Roast Coffee, Liquid Sugar, Light Cream, and Ice

If you just need a quick cool coffee fix without the frills, this one is for you. McCafe Iced Coffee is made using 100% Arabica beans, cream, and a flavored syrup of your choice hazelnut, caramel, French vanilla, and sugar-free French vanilla. This is my go-to drink on hot days.

2. Iced Caramel Macchiato

Nutritional Information: 210 calories, 6g Total Fat, 32g Total Carbs, 6g protein (small size)
Ingredients: Espresso, Caramel Syrup, Caramel Drizzle, Whole Milk, Water, and Ice

If you love the caramel latte of McDonald’s, you will surely love the Iced Caramel Macchiato. This drink is made the same way as the caramel latte. The sweet and buttery taste is the right contrast to the dark and bitter taste of the espresso.

3. Iced Mocha

Nutritional Information: 280 calories, 10g Total Fat, 39g Total Carbs, 7g Protein (small size)
Ingredients: Espresso, Chocolate Syrup, Chocolate Drizzle, Whipped Light Cream, Whole Milk, Water, and Ice

The sweetness from the chocolate syrup and the caffeine is perfect to give you a boost of energy to keep you up and running on a busy day. On a personal note, I found it a bit sweet but this drink is suitable for those with a sweet tooth.

4. Iced Latte

Nutritional Information: 90 calories, 4.5g Total Fat, 7g Total Carbs, 4g Protein (small size)
Ingredients: Espresso, Whole Milk, Ice, and Water

Like the other drinks in the latte line of the McDonald’s menu, this drink is made from Rainforest Alliance Certified espresso. With only 90 calories in every small cup, you satisfy your caffeine needs. You can swap the whole milk to nonfat milk for lesser calories.

5. Iced French Vanilla Latte

Nutritional Information: 210 calories, 6g Total Fat, 32 Total Carbs, 7g Protein (small size)
Ingredients: Espresso, Whole Milk, French Vanilla Syrup, Ice, and Water

This drink is the sweeter sister of the Iced Latte. Like Iced Mocha, I found it a tad bit too sweet and the vanilla was too overpowering. The drink would’ve been better if the vanilla was lessened with at least one pump and there was more espresso.

6. Caramel Frappé

Nutritional Information: 420 calories, 17g Total Fat, 60g Total Carbs, 7g Protein (small size)
Ingredients: Caramel Coffee Frappé Base, Whipped Light Cream, Caramel Drizzle, and Ice

Made with McDonald’s very own Caramel Coffee Base, Whipped Light Cream, and Caramel Drizzle, Caramel Frappé is butterball candy in a cup. Unlike frappés from other coffee shops, McDonald’s makes their frappé on the smooth side.

7. Mocha Frappé

Nutritional Information: 420 calories, 17g Total Fat, 60g Total Carbs, 7g Protein (small size)
Ingredients: Mocha Coffee Frappé Base, Whipped Light Cream, Chocolate Drizzle, and Ice

Probably one of the best and cheapest chocolate frappés out there. The sweetness of the chocolate and the bitterness of the espresso complemented each other. The whipped light cream also made the drink light and airy.

8. Iced Caramel Coffee

Nutritional Information: 140 calories, 5g Total Fat, 23g Total Carbs, 3g Protein (small size)
Ingredients: Premium Roast Coffee, Light Cream, Caramel Syrup, and ice

Made using premium-roast coffee, caramel syrup, and light cream, Iced Caramel Coffee is a good alternative to Caramel Frappé. It has fewer calories but tastes similar to the former.

9. Iced Long Black

Nutritional Information: 0 calories, 0g Total Fat, 0 Total Carbs, 0 Protein (small size)
Ingredients: Ground and Extracted Roasted Coffee, Water

Iced Long Black is the drink for iced americano lovers. I usually drink my coffee in plain black. When I don’t have the time to grind my coffee beans and brew my coffee in the morning, McDonald’s Iced Long Black is my go-to drink. Who does not love plain, unadulterated coffee?

10. Iced Caramel Latte

Nutritional Information: 180 calories, 5g Total Fat, 28g Total Carbs, 6g Protein (small size)
Ingredients: Espresso, Caramel Syrup, Whole Milk, Water, and Ice

The buttery taste of the caramel syrup complements the bitter taste of espresso.

11. Iced French Vanilla Coffee

Nutritional Information: 120 calories, 5g Total Fat, 19g Total Carbs, 2g Protein (small size)
Ingredients: Premium Roast Coffee, French Vanilla Syrup, Light Cream, and Ice

It has a light and sweet taste that’s just the right tingle to the tastebuds. It tastes more balanced than Iced French Vanilla Latte. If it’s still too sweet for you, you also have the option to add sweetener and creamer of your choice.

As a default, every drink from the McCafe is made with whole milk. Like in most coffee shops, the McCafe also allows customers to customize their drinks. For example, the customer has a choice to swap the milk with nonfat and soy or to leave it out entirely. For some drinks, the customer also has the option to choose which syrup to add.

Aside from the aforementioned customizations, the customer can also request to have their drink unsweetened. Customers can also ask for the whipped cream to be left out.

Although McDonald’s claim to fame is its burgers, it is slowly making a name as a café as well. Their drinks are tasty and flavorful. But the selling point of the McCafe is its price. For under 2 dollars, you get to satisfy your caffeine needs.
